A guy saw my work and just asked "you do motion design? make one for me." That was it. First real client project.
Y-Axis is a Chrome extension that helps you navigate long LLM conversations instantly.
The dark theme.
Every element. Backgrounds, cards, text, UI components was the same dark blackish-gray. Almost no contrast to work with. No bright colors to lean on, no light backgrounds as a safety net.
Making things pop in that environment was the actual design challenge. Ended up using shadows, depth, and glow to create separation where colour couldn't.
First paid project. Came together really well.
